Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Systems Engineer to join our client’s Power Electronics Department. This role involves designing power electronics system architectures, conducting cost analyses, and developing power converters. The engineer will also prepare documentation, conduct feasibility studies, and troubleshoot field and factory issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in power electronics, at least 12 years of industry experience, and proficiency with tools like Altium, Matlab/Simulink, DSP, and FPGA.

What you will be doing:

• Evaluate product design requirements to determine the power electronics system architecture.
• Engage in all phases of preliminary design and systems architecture, analyzing the cost implications of proposed changes, upgrades, and new implementations.
• Identify the most effective techniques, procedures, and theories for developing power electronics products and systems.
• Design various power converters utilizing advanced solid-state switching devices.
• Prepare and coordinate the release of documentation to support product design, verification, and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on specific projects.
• Serve as the technical lead for troubleshooting field and factory issues related to the client’s power electronics products.

What you will need to be successful:

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in power electronics, with a minimum of 12 years of practical industry experience.
• Extensive experience with various power converters, including DC/DC converters, inverters, and rectifiers.
• Experience with 3-phase power electronics systems is highly desirable.
• Direct experience with designs using IGBT/MOSFET/SiC/GaN, gate driver design, selection, and characterization.
• Strong proficiency in creating complex schematics and PCBA layouts.
• Solid experience in power electronics controls development.
• Proficiency with tools such as Altium, Matlab/Simulink, and other relevant power electronics development tools.
• Experience with DSP and FPGA.
