Job Summary: Essential functions of the position: Provides table assistance to Residents and assists with meal/tray preparation. Job-related physical requirements:

• Able to stand and walk entire shift.
• Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Supervision: Reports to: Food Service Manager is monitored and directed by Food Service Supervisor. Extent of supervision: Seeks daily assignment from supervisor or monitor. Seeks redirection for any departure from assignment. Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibility. Position Specifications: Education Requirement: No education requirement Licensure Requirement: No licensure requirement. Additional skills/knowledge:

• Basic knowledge of food preparation and serving techniques.
• Basic knowledge of dietetics and nutrition, particularly as related to special diets/restrictions.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in the predominant language of the facility.
• Must have knowledge of Residents' Rights and always respect these rights.
• Must have appropriate knowledge of Policies and Procedures of the company (including Personnel Policies) and always follow these policies.
• Must have knowledge of and practice appropriate safety and injury-prevention measures. Reports any incident/accident immediately, regardless of severity.
• Must have knowledge of and practice applicable infection control techniques.
• Must attend relevant in-service education programs and other informational meetings.

Status/Scheduled:

• Full time, part time, temporary.
• Hourly
• Scheduled shifts correspond with hours of the food service department. Other times as necessary.
• Usual Location:
• Throughout the food service area, the facility and between facilities.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assists cooks as directed.
• Assists with tray line setup; prepare supplies, pre-pour beverages, etc.
• Assists with tray line operation; read diet cards/selective menus, placing trays on carts, etc.
• Prepares Dining Room for meal service.
• Serves Residents in the dining room.
• Follows cleaning assignments in kitchen and dining room.
• Assists with equipment cleaning.
• Transports snacks to nursing units.
• Operate the hospitality cart, serve residents following guidelines.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
• Reports to work on-time.
• Can be relied upon to attend work as scheduled.
• Accepts as a condition of employment, responsibility to be at the facility or emergency shelter in the event of a natural or other emergency (especially hurricanes). By signing below, employee acknowledges receiving a copy of his/her Emergency Preparedness job description (copy attached)
