To The Rescue a PRK Williams Company is Hiring an Employment Specialist Near Rapids, IA

Summary of position/Objective
The Employment Specialist will support all functions of the Employment and Hourly Program as needed.
The Employment Specialist will manage all aspects related to the ongoing implementation of the Human Service Program. This includes but is not limited to the quality assurance functions daily on all supporting paperwork and documentation to remain compliant with standards set by Iowa Code, the Social Security Administration, Managed Care Organizations, Iowa Medicaid Enterprises, and To The Rescue Policies.
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Completes documentation for all services rendered timely.
  • Completes documentation as needed for Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services.
  • Attends Interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Acts as the face of the program and meets with potential employers/follow up on potential leads
  • Meets with job seeker as needed for employment services limiting non-bill time from staff
  • Models good basic work habits for job candidate
  • Prepare onsite analysis of job candidate skills
  • Assist in orienting job candidate to the employer
  • Research and network with the current job market
  • Maintains and updates resumes and cover letters for job candidates employment interests
  • Completes and assist job candidates with employment applications
  • Maintains ongoing communication with job candidate and the IDT (Interdisciplinary Team)
  • Serves as a liaison between job candidates and their potential employers
  • Completes required documentation for services provided within the required timeframe
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
Competencies/Qualifications/Education
  • Teamwork oriented
  • Have working knowledge of privacy laws and regulations
  • Must possess strong leadership skills
  • Must possess strong independent judgment
  • Strong written communication skills for monthly reports
  • Ability to manage own schedule
  • Ability to manage and maintain organizational skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and provide instruction and direction to employees on maintaining compliance with policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office that includes Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to learn computer programs for scheduling and timekeeping
  • Ability to work proficiently with computers and To The Rescue software systems.
  • Ability to respond well under pressure
  • Ability to work proficiently with personal scheduling and time management
  • Must have an attitude to become a solution-oriented individual.
  • Must obtain crisis management and de-escalation skills.
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or related field and/or four or more years of related experience.
Certificates/Licenses/Registration
The employee must provide and maintain a valid driver's license for the entire duration of their employment and be eligible for the agency’s vehicle insurance.
Work Hours
Hours are varied depending on the needs of the organization. This may include, but is not limited to days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment
The work environment is consistent with similar office environment settings.

  • The employee continuously uses hand strength to type and operate computer controls.
  • The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 80 pounds.
  • The employees will frequently push or pull items.
  • Specific vision requirements include close and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
Travel
Frequent travel within a 45-mile radius is expected for this position. Travel beyond a 45-mile radius may be required.
