Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and eating.
- Provide mobility assistance, including transferring residents between beds, chairs, and wheelchairs.
- Help residents with a range of motion exercises and ambulation as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output measurements, and other relevant information.
- Assist with medication administration under the supervision of licensed nurses.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, including making beds, tidying rooms, and organizing belongings.
- Respond promptly to resident calls and requests for assistance.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans for residents.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting social engagement and well-being.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to resident care discussions as appropriate.
- Active certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of [insert state].
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may be required or preferred).
- Previous experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and compassion for the elderly and individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Physical ability to lift, push, and pull residents and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and kneeling.
