The Licensed Practice Nurse position is responsible for delivering quality nursing care including but not limited to; taking temperatures, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and other various technical nursing tasks in providing health care to youth.
Job Responsibilities
Assists with clinics daily including assessing, medicating, treating and educating youth.
Follows physician’s specific medical orders from youth chart; documents medication/treatments on MAR sheet; charts all health assessments and incident reports in report book.
Sets up medication for clinics. Orders/re-orders medication as needed.
Treats youth at other scheduled times and delivers first aid / emergency care to youth when needed.
Job Requirements
Minimum 1 – 3 years of experience. Experience with at-risk youth in an institutional environment preferred.
Flexible schedule and ability to provide weekend, holiday and on call coverage.
Ability to work with a culturally and economically diverse population.
Skills: ability to exercise sound judgment and follow detailed oral or written instructions; demonstrated oral and written communication skills; demonstrated knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, practices, and theory, of medical terminology, infection control measures and safety principles.
