The Licensed Practice Nurse position is responsible for delivering quality nursing care including but not limited to; taking temperatures, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and other various technical nursing tasks in providing health care to youth.

Job Responsibilities

• Provides nursing services, treatment and continuity of care for all youth, in conjunction with other practitioners, to ensure health needs are addressed in a timely manner.

• Assists with clinics daily including assessing, medicating, treating and educating youth.

• Follows physician’s specific medical orders from youth chart; documents medication/treatments on MAR sheet; charts all health assessments and incident reports in report book.

• Sets up medication for clinics. Orders/re-orders medication as needed.

• Treats youth at other scheduled times and delivers first aid / emergency care to youth when needed.

 Job Requirements

• Minimum Associates Degree. Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse’s license and CPR/First Aid certification.

• Minimum 1 – 3 years of experience. Experience with at-risk youth in an institutional environment preferred.

• Flexible schedule and ability to provide weekend, holiday and on call coverage.

• Ability to work with a culturally and economically diverse population.

• Skills: ability to exercise sound judgment and follow detailed oral or written instructions; demonstrated oral and written communication skills; demonstrated knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, practices, and theory, of medical terminology, infection control measures and safety principles.

Salary 

• $30 hourly
