Summary:The Shipper position works collaboratively within the department under the direction of the Shipping Supervisor to prepare materials for transport in and out of the plant location. The Shipper will follow established procedures to ensure safety, compliance and other efficiencies to support the functions of shipping and receiving; purchase order fulfillment; inventory control and other key related tasks. Requirements:Perform Safety inspections on all equipment in shipping. take part in safety programs and initiativesInspect and identify problems with Hopper cars and Hopper trucks.Understand and implement daily loading schedule.Understand how to properly load vans for configuration and weightProperly install load locksUnderstand and complete van loading paperwork and check sheetsLoad Hopper trucks to goal weights and weight distributionLoad hopper cars to goal weightsIdentify bulk tank loading spouts correctlyIdentify bulk tank strapping locations correctlyStrap and document bulk tanks accurately, reliablyProperly identify and off-weight bags (FIBC and 50#)Properly stack bags in Lazy Susan (50# paper or poly) 850 TO 1700 A DAYOperate forklift correctly and safelyOperate tractor correctly and safelyDrive yard truck (if valid CDL license holder)Complete all job assignments from the supervisor.Support the company’s mission, value, strategic goals, vision, and objectives.Perform additional duties as required by Shipping Supervisor.Perform ISO duties as required by department.Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED EquivalentAbility to read, interpret and understand safety manuals, policies and proceduresExcellent communication skills to relay shipping instructions to team membersDesire for excellence with respect to efficiencies and resultsPreferred Education and Experience:0-1 year experience in a manufacturing environment0-1 year of Forklift experienceStrong mechanical and operational aptitude in a manufacturing environmentCDL driver’s license
