Tool Crib Technician – Manufacturing

JOB SUMMARY: The Tool Crib Technician is responsible for issuing specialized tooling for CNC Machining, monitoring Tool Crib Inventory, collecting tools from work areas, and restocking tooling as needed. Parts are machined on site for aerospace, defense, and medical jobs.

This position will be crossed-trained as an CNC Machinist

QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:

• 2 years of experience working with tool inventory in a machine shop.

• Must be dependable and punctual.

• Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others.

• Ability to read, understand, and interpret instructions in English.

• Must be willing to work overtime when needed.

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must be familiar with CAT 40 and CAT 50 Tool holders and their respective collets.

• Experience reading blueprints/technical drawings.

• Knowledge of precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches, etc.

• Grind, file, and sand surfaces of metal items

• Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to company policies, quality policies, and industry standards.

ESSENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Self-motivated, capable of working with minimum supervision.

· Issue replacement tools to machinist as required.

· Tear down and inspect incoming tooling and equipment for defects and wear.

· Accurately maintain records, documentation, and specifics of tooling calibration.

· Perform other duties as assigned to support the warehouse’s daily operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:

• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.

• Ability to stretch, bend and reach work areas.

• Must be able to occasionally move parts, weighing 25 lbs. unassisted.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Majority of work is performed on the production floor, which is subject to moderate changes in temperature.
