We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer who is eager to take on new challenges and grow professionally. The ideal candidate will initially take on a leadership role to assist with the modeling and fabrication drawings of mining equipment such as tanks, conveyors, clarifiers, pump skids, and piping isometrics. Candidate must have experience using SolidWorks and a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles. The role requires expertise in 3D modeling, creating fabrication drawings, and ensuring accurate dimensions and specifications. Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently are essential. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to develop precise and high-quality engineering drawings for manufacturing purposes.

Minimum Required Experience/Skills:
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills
  • BS Mechanical Engineering
  • Five years of experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Experience with creating/reading/interpreting PIDs and PFDs
  • Excellent Knowledge of GD&T Drawing Standards
  • Understanding of engineering principles and materials science
  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects/tasks to meet short deadlines
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite(Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook, etc.)
Preferred Additional Experience/Skills:
  • Knowledge of pump design and process integration
  • Experience with structural steel beam construction
  • Experience in pipeline design
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks add-ons, such as Smart PIDs, PDM, Routing, Rendering, and FEA Analysis
  • Experience with industrial equipment design:
  • Storage and mixing tanks, support structures, conveyors, pumps, hydraulic systems, catwalk design, settling and dewatering equipment
Primary Job Roles/Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with engineers, customers, and project managers to gather product and technical requirements and generate conceptual models for proposals
  • Participate in project meetings, contributing your expertise and insights to help ensure project success
  • Participate in R&D and creation of new design concepts for new and emerging industry applications
  • Collaborate with other engineers to create and maintain the engineering drawings library, product manuals, installation instructions, specifications, and other documentation using OneDrive, SolidWorks PDM and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Perform FEA analysis, tolerance studies, and material selection analysis to verify part and assembly fit and compatibility; make recommendations as necessary
  • Create detailed fabrication drawings and renderings for most, if not all, aspects of the process system:
  • Top plant level general assembly drawings and pump assemblies – skids, motor mounts, motors, etc.
  • Ancillary equipment - tanks, conveyors, hoppers, etc.
  • Piping and conduit routing
  • Create piping diagrams, part and assembly templates, and P&IDs
  • Manage detailed and accurate 3D models based on provided project specifications
  • Continuously update knowledge and skills in drafting techniques and software; research and learn new software opportunities to increase engineering project delivery efficiency
  • Lead the training of drafter and designers by providing guidance and technical support
  • Troubleshoot customers issues/concerns and provide practical solutions
  • Act as backup to other department functions as directed
