Top Prospect Consulting is Hiring a Low Voltage Technician Near Roanoke, VA

We are seeking a Low Voltage Technician for a project in Roanoke, VA. Qualified candidates will be familiar and experienced in the following areas:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling and systems, including structured cabling, security systems, access control, CCTV, audiovisual systems, and fire alarm systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing low voltage and AV systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with low voltage and AV systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to determine installation requirements.
  • Conduct site assessments and prepare for installations by coordinating with clients and team members.
  • Ensure all installations comply with industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing client concerns and ensuring satisfaction with all services rendered.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in low voltage and AV technology and integrate new solutions into projects.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Low Voltage Technician.
  • Proficiency with tools and equipment used in low voltage and AV installations and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of low voltage and AV systems, including structured cabling, security, access control, CCTV, audiovisual, and fire alarms.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in low voltage systems, such as BICSI, NICET, or equivalent.
  • Experience with networking and IT systems.
  • Familiarity with construction techniques and industry standards.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with relevant software.
