Position: Fleet Manager and Safety Director

Location: Clarksville, TN

Position type: On Site

Salary: $95k plus based on experience

Job Description

• Develop and implement strategies to significantly reduce violations/ accidents through initiatives (weekly calls, training, truck adjustment, etc.)
• Focus on increasing safety on the road, environmental sustainability, and leveraging technology to increase throughput/reduce operating cost.
• Recruit and retain high-quality drivers through a rigorous screening/interview process.
• Gain respect / trust from drivers as well as understand their concerns through experience.
• Leverage knowledge of driver's issues to adjust pay scales and safety policies as needed.
• Develop maintenance programs and driver training programs.
• Perform cost analysis regarding in-house R&M vs. outside shop, etc.
• Perform cost analysis to determine when to repair or sell equipment.
• Implement a culture of safety from drivers to office staff.
• Monitor and improve HoS, FMCSA scores, safety assessment and DOT audits.

Requirements

• 8 years in safety/compliance and maintenance management
• Proven track record of managing a fleet size of 150 trucks
• Experience with over-the-road driving/ CDL License is preferred.
• Experience in managing drivers, maintaining and procuring trucks and driving adherence to safety regulations.
• Success in building maintenance programs and ongoing driver training programs preferred.
