The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee all financial activities of the corporation, directing the preparation of current financial reports and summaries while forecasting future growth. The CFO will manage the accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions to ensure GAAP compliance. They will collaborate with department executives to monitor and ensure excellent financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
• Set internal governance policies and manage the impact of external factors.
• Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses, making or overseeing any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
• Review the planning process and suggest improvements to current methods.
• Analyze operations to identify areas needing reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
• Work with the CEO and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities.
• Study long-range economic trends and project their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
• Identify opportunities for expansion into new product areas.
• Work closely with the sales team to identify retail strategies, promotions, and sales growth opportunities.
• Oversee the investment of funds and collaborate with investment bankers to raise additional capital required for expansion.

Education and Experience Required

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
• Eight to ten years of experience in financial management.
• Excellent management and supervisory skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in database and accounting computer application systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
