Tops Staffing has partnered with a local manufacturing company to find their next CNC Lathe Operator.
We are looking for a CNC Lathe Operator with experience running multi-axis CNC lathes. You must be able to do your own set up of machine, load & unload lathe, quality check parts as they come out of machine. Any editing abilities would be a plus, but job will not require any programming experience to qualify.
Job Details:
Afternoon Shift position
Hours 3pm to 1:30am (10 hour shift)
Schedule: Monday to Thursday – OT on Friday as needed
Pay rate: Based on experience and ability level, but up to $26 per hour starting off.
As one of our CNC machine operators, you will load programs into CNC machine, set up the machines, do necessary tool changes for jobs and monitor CNC as it operates, unload finished pieces, perform inspection of machined piece by using mircrometers, calipers, and other provided measuring / inspection devices. May do some very basic maintenance on equipment as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Determine the fixtures, attachments and tools necessary to complete jobs according to specifications, and mount them to machine prior to beginning cutting
• Modify machine speed, tooling and cutting style to ensure precision and accuracy of manufactured parts
• Oversee cutting process, make adjustments throughout each job, catch mistakes as they happen and take necessary measures to eliminate errors
• Supervise machine temperatures, ensure that machine has adequate warm-up and cool-down time between jobs and replace coolant periodically
• Review and interpret cutting plans, enter them into control outlets before jobs and alter them to correct mistakes when necessary
• Inspect all finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and uphold company reputation
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including lubrication, cleaning and tool replacement
• Any manual machining experience would be a plus but it is not required for this position.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of experience operating a CNC Lathes
• Experience operating a Doosan or Okuma Turning Center is highly preferred
• Ability to do basic shop math
• Experience using calipers and micrometers.
