TOPS Staffing is currently looking for a quality testing technician for a client near the Mt. Pleasant area.
The primary function of this job is to perform quality checks and functional testing on clients products manufactured at the production facility. There will also be a bit of incoming inspection on materials coming into the plant prior to being used in production. Inspections will include dimensional tolerancing, visual inspections and the functional test will be a load or tensile test.
Job Details:
60 Calendar day Contract to Hire – (hired on perm in 2 months)
Location: Mt. Pleasant area
Hours: Daylight shift – 8am to 4:30pm
Schedule: Monday to Friday schedule
Pay: Starting rate based on experience up to $20 per hour.
Once hired into the union (60 days) pay will increase to $21.47 per hour
Duties/Responsibilities:

• High attention to detail to perform and record quality check findings.
• Documents and validates testing procedures and integrity of all manufactured products.
• Rigs or positions products into testing beds to perform tensile strength testing.
• Work as a team to complete production set ups to ensure an efficient changeover from job to job
• Hooking products up to testing beds utilizing proper securing techniques.
• Use of overhead crane to help maneuver products in and out of test fixture
• Ability to multi task, performing multiple tests at the same time, we have 3 testing fixtures that run at any given time.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of quality assurance experience, visual and dimensional testing, if you have any functional testing it would be a bonus
• Experience using dimensional tolerancing tools, such as micrometers, gauges, calipers
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Prior forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and standing in order to perform job duties
• May include driving a forklift or overhead crane operation
• Rigging of products, hooking them up to move with overhead crane
