Torrance Memorial is Hiring a Medical Assistant - Palos Verdes Primary Care Near Torrance, CA
DescriptionPrimary Medical Assistant duties will include and are not limited to:
- Preparing and maintaining exam rooms in a clean and orderly manner
- Taking patient primary concerns
- Perform vitals for patients
- Enter patient histories, demographics, medications, etc.
- Assisting physicians with a wide range of tasks that are related to patient care
- Contacting pharmacies with new medication and/or order changes as directed
- Performing vision tests, audiograms, and EKG’s
- Obtaining prior authorizations for diagnostic exams and referrals
- Scheduling diagnostic exams
- Greeting patients in a friendly, professional manner
- Monitoring Patients Quality Metrics Data via Electronic Health Record and Pursuit Lists
- Scheduling appointments
- Check-out patients and provide future instructions
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant in primary care preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Electronic Medical Records proficiency, Cerner experience preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- A Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma
- A valid CPR card
