TOTAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT, INC is Hiring an Install Technician - Day Shift Near Anaheim, CA

The Install Tech I at Total Environmental Management, Inc. is responsible to assist in staging projects, based on project checklist. Assists in the installation and teardown of equipment. Available/able to be On Call and Work Overtime, as required. This role will complete installations, teardowns, answering customer questions, and contributes to TEM’s exceptional customer service.

Success in this role comes from being eager to learn, technically inclined, an excellent communicator, and having a passion for people service and care.

Within the first 30 days:

  • Learns TEM’s mission, core values, services, and operational procedures.
  • Within 1st week, completes TEM safety training, watches videos and passes written test.
  • Learns to use Paycom and KeepTruckin accurately clocking in and out daily and recording time driving commercial vehicles.
  • Learns GoFormz software in the field taking pictures, taking notes, and completing paperwork accurately with review from Install Department Manager.
  • Learns Dropbox and is able to locate past client files, service tickets, and paperwork.

3 months and ongoing:

  • Basic understanding of how to connect fire hose, cable, duct and piping for installations.
  • Studies and completes the Class C Driving Requirements and Limitations test.
  • Learns how to land, level, and chock TEM units at job sites.
  • Basic understanding of how to roll up fire hose, cable, and duct on teardowns.
  • Cleans out and restocks truck with correct supplies and tools needed to complete the installations for the day.

6 months and ongoing:

  • Studies and completes the Loading and Securing Test.
  • Pulls hose, cable, ductwork and piping at the direction of a lead for upcoming job.
  • Puts away hose, cable, ductwork, and piping at the direction of a lead that came back from an active jobsite.

12 months and ongoing:

  • Understands the Install Department Training program.
  • Begin working on the Installation Technician II requirements.

What are the biggest challenges that they’ll face? What would they need to DO to overcome them?

Learning TEM internal processes – There are many unique internal processes within the business that will take time to learn and understand. This person must be willing and eager to gain a full knowledge of the processes, and not be afraid to ask questions in order to complete their responsibilities with accuracy and a deep knowledge of the operational processes and structure.

Completing long work hours – TEM business season is over the summer where there will be multiple installations in a day and occasional on call shifts. This person must be committed to working long hours and seeing jobs through to completion even during an on call shift.

Working in Teams – This rolewill have to work in groups and be out in the field. This person must be comfortable taking direction and not afraid of asking questions to help them accomplish tasks and goals.

  • Timeliness – Arrives to work on time ready to start the day and manages time effectively to arrive 5-10 mins early to each job site giving time to load the truck and prepare equipment for the installation or removal. Keeps track of their travel time and proactively informs customers in they are running late.

Essential skills & experience required? What are preferred?

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 years demonstrated experience in construction, plumbing industry a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Is able to pass a drug screen and physical and is acceptable to insurance required.
  • Demonstrated experience with GoFormz, Paycom, Motive, and Dropbox software a plus.
  • HVAC certification a plus.
  • HVACR certification a plus.
  • EPA certification a plus.
  • Driven and hungry to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment required.
