Do you love the look of a clean space? We’re looking for an experienced porter / janitor to fill a position on our team. You’ll keep our building impeccably clean, vacuum and mop floors, wash windows, empty trash, and perform other maintenance and cleaning duties as needed.

Responsibilities :

• Keep the building safe, clean, and well-maintained
• Eliminate dangerous hazards and wipe up spills with squeegees or sponges
• Replace light bulbs, clean windows, shampoo carpets, and supply restrooms on a regular basis as scheduled
• Lock doors to ensure building security once cleaning is finished
• Make sure vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing restrooms, dusting furniture, and emptying trash are completed daily
• Report areas cleaned and make sure managers know if major repairs are needed

Duties :

• Perform general facilities maintenance tasks, including cleaning and sanitizing designated areas
• Perform adequate and efficient housekeeping duties to assure cleanliness of all building common areas, halls, basement, stairways, trash rooms and other public areas
• Wet mop public areas several time per week depending on usage and appearance
• Clean laundry rooms weekly, removing lint from dryers daily Sweep mop floors to maintain a clean and safe environment
• Empty trash and recycling cans and dispose of waste properly
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, including windows, furniture, and fixtures
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when restocking is needed
• Follow established safety protocols and use personal protective equipment as required
• Pick up litter inside buildings and on grounds
• Sort recycling and put trash out for pick up
• Clean and disinfect trash room and garbage chute rooms
• Light landscaping as required
• And any other job duties that may be assigned

Qualifications :

• In good physical condition with excellent health
• 1 years of experience as a janitor, cleaning crew member, or similar position
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent certification
• Strong working knowledge of cleaning supplies and cleaning equipment
• Driver’s license or reliable transportation to and from the worksite

Skills :

• Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment operation
• Ability to operate buffing machines to maintain floor surfaces
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
• Good communication skills to interact with colleagues and residents in a professional manner

Requirements :

• Qualified person should be able to lift heavy objects and have the ability to be on your feet all day.
• Must be able to shovel snow in inclement weather
• Must be able to follow directions and work alone or in teams
