Total Nutrition Technology is Hiring a Production Supervisor Near Leesburg, FL

The Supervisor is responsible for supervising all aspects of assigned food & nutritional product manufacturing runs, and ensuring that work is performed in a timely, profitable & safe manner, while meeting or exceeding the Company’s quality, food compliance, health and customer service standards. Essential functions include: checking scale calibrations; planning, scheduling, supervising project phases & activities as a “working manager;” executing and enforcing Company policies & procedures, job contract provisions & specifications, along with federal, state and local regulations effecting assigned food manufacturing runs; managing, training, mentoring & evaluating employees under his/her direct supervision; coordinating with the Warehouse / Shipping / 
Receiving Manager, QA Manager, Production Manager and other Company personnel regarding job resources, such as labor, equipment, small tools, materials & supplies usage; checking, preparing and submitting job paperwork on a timely basis; monitoring and measuring daily and daily job progress to determine that all assigned manufacturing runs are on schedule / budget; and reviewing the completed job cost report on completed jobs for areas of improvement; check folders for accuracy; expedite completed jobs to shipping; and ensuring job safety & hygiene. This position is also responsible for work area cleanliness & safety as well as the preventive maintenance, operation, quality control and proper tag-out / log-out all assigned tools & equipment, and proper handling & storage of assigned materials & supplies.
Duties
  • Review the scope of each project with the Production Manager regarding: the job mobilization plan; project phases & budgeted time for each task; manpower, equipment, small tools, material & supplies requirements; special instructions; QA requirements, safety concerns, etc.
  • Coordinate phases and work schedules to ensure all time, budget, quality, food manufacturing, safety and other contractual commitments are met, and resources effectively utilized. 
  • Recognize when quality issues arise and inform the Production Manager promptly.
  • Ensure all new employees have received their proper initial training & orientations.
  • Promote team work through leadership and “by example,” and maintain employee morale at a positive level.
  • Maintain security procedures to protect company assets.
  • Attend all required job, food, health, safety, management, production and department budget / completed job cost, and other company meetings, as deemed necessary.
  • Ensure the accuracy & completion of all job reporting requirements, including daily time/activity reports, material, parts & supplies requests equipment maintenance, inventory, waste measurement, rework, and any other required information.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and the worksite are maintained in a clean, good working, organized manner, and properly locked-out / tagged out. Also ensure that unused equipment, tools, supplies, parts & materials are returned to storage areas daily. Take inventory of unused materials & assets at the end of every shift, and inform the Production Manager of problems.
  • Creates & revises production systems, procedures & controls by analyzing operating practices. 
  • Maintain current working knowledge of the technical requirements and skills necessary to successfully complete the food manufacturing processes/jobs.
  • Mentor, coach, and train subordinates in the areas of job skills improvement, better methods, techniques, etc. in order to continually improve manufacturing, productivity, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay abreast of lead times for any equipment, special material or subcontractor requirements.
  • Inspect all materials, equipment, small tools & supplies delivered to the production area, and verify that they match specifications, are delivered in the right quantities, and are in good condition. 
  • Return excess materials, tools, and rental equipment are promptly returned in good condition when no longer needed.
  • Review and approve subordinate work & overtime hours. Ensure accuracy of time and quantity of work performed. Ensure acceptable level of work against the budget.
  • Inspect active jobs throughout the day for progress, safe conditions, quality, proper use & maintenance of parts, materials tools & equipment, etc. 
  • Notify the Production Manager, QA & Safety / Compliance Manager immediately of any problem of a serious nature, such accidents, damage to property, quality issues, safety infractions, and disputes involving employees.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations for both new hires and existing production workers. 
  • Cooperate with auditors and other inspectors when on site.
  • Represent the company to employees, customers, visitors and the general public in the most positive manner that will foster goodwill for TNT.
  • Consistently meets daily production quotas, while minimizing overtime. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
