Town and Country Humane Society is Hiring an Animal Welfare Specialist Near Papillion, NE

We are searching for an attentive, caring Animal welfare specialist to oversee the well-being of the animals in our care. The responsibilities include cleaning cages, administering medication, and providing animals with food and water. You will also be walking, exercising and socializing dogs on a daily basis. Some dog bathing / grooming and assistance with dog adoptions may be expected on an as-needed basis.
Kennel Attendant Responsibilities:

  • Transporting animals to and from the kennels.
  • Ensuring that the animals have ample, fresh food and water at all times.
  • Cleaning animal waste, spilled food, hair, and other debris from the kennels.
  • Disposing of trash in a timely manner.
  • Grooming, playing with and administering treatment to animals.
  • Accompanying animals on walks.
  • Providing appropriate enrichment
  • Calming animals who are in distress.
  • Ensure that the animals remain in a clean, comfortable environment.
  • Reporting significant changes in functioning to the kennel manager.
  • Washing bedding, toys, dishes, and generally maintaining a clean kennel environment.
  • Kennel Attendant Requirements:
  • Previous experience caring for animals will be advantageous.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit and agile, Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds unaided.
  • Ability to work in hot or cold environments (weather appropriate to different seasons)
  • A passion for animal welfare.
  • Available to work during evenings, and on weekends and public holidays, if required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
