POSITION REPORTS TO: Roadways Superintendent or designee

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full Time, Non-Exempt Position, part of AFSCME Council 93 Local 1700 Labor Union.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• General maintenance & general (outdoor) road & construction work such as patching/ resurfacing roads leveling surfaces, shoulders & trenches, sweeping streets/ sidewalks, cleaning catch basins, erecting road signs, brush disposal, snow removal (roads & sidewalks), sanding streets/sidewalks, install drainage pipes, catch basins, manholes, etc. Repair sidewalks with Type 1 mix, concrete, etc., install, repair or replace curbing's, clean water drainage ditches.
• Must be able to operate small equipment such as roadside mower, sidewalk plow, compressors, etc.
• Must be willing to learn and advance to a higher grade.
• 40 HRS per week - Emergency overtime at time & one half - Double time 16 hours in one day or 56 hours within one normal work week.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• laborer: 1 year (Required)
• Light Equipment Operator: 1 year (Preferred)
