Center Aide – Hargraves Community Center
PAY: $15.85 per hour

What You’ll Do At Work
Engage!Welcome the community into our spaces. Answer phone calls and respond to emails. Provide departmental and Town information. Monitor facilities and enforce policies and procedures.
Be a Leader.Open and/or close recreation and aquatic facilities. Utilize recreation software for program and pass registrations, and reporting. Collect money and prepare deposits.
Communicate.Develop relationships, be empathic, build trust, and display patience. Mediate and resolve conflicts.
R.E.S.P.E.C.T.Learn, serve, and work together to build a community where people thrive by upholding the Town’s values, RESPONSIBILITY, EQUITY, SAFETY, PROFESSIONALISM, ETHICS, COMMUNICATION, and TEAMWORK.
Attend to injuries.Provide first aid. Complete and submit reports. Inventory and restock supplies. Perform C.P.R. and utilize A.E.D.
Learn and Grow.Attend and participate in staff orientation, trainings, and meetings. Develop relationships with co-workers, give and receive feedback, and provide input.
Support.Set up, break down, and maintain supplies and equipment. Clean and maintain safe and inclusive spaces. Be flexible and adapt to changes; assist and support where needed.
Where You’ll Work
You’ll be working both indoors and outdoors, at and in recreation centers, parks, playgrounds, trails, and swimming pools. Facilities operate year-round, and you may experience hot or cold temperatures and inclement weather.
When You’ll Work
Year-Round:You’ll work anywhere between 4 and 18 hours per week, Monday-Sundays between the hours of 5 a.m. – 9 p.m. We are looking to fill early morning, late evening and weekend shifts.
This is a program support position, working no more than 950 hours annually (approximately 18 hours per week).

Physical Demands:
Work is typically performed while, standing and sitting. Employee will occasionally lift light and heavy objects.
Work Environment:
Work is performed mostly indoors and occasionally outdoors. The employee may be exposed to noise, infectious and/or contagious diseases, and inclement weather.
Various shifts covering hours of operations from 5:00am-9:00pm 7 days a week.
Special Requirements:
This classification has been designated as Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.Temporary
