Information Technology Director

Starting Salary $90,000 - $100,000 w/ an Excellent Benefits Package

The Town of Colchester is seeking a strategic and analytic IT Director with proven experience with diverse hardware and software. The IT Director is responsible for the design, implementation, management, and security of the Town’s IT and telecom infrastructure, including all associated peripheral systems. Exceptional understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems is necessary to excel in this position.

Oversees other Town IT staff, technology consultants, vendors, contractors, and service providers. Drafts IT policies, procedures, and instructions for staff. Ability to integrate and modify existing programs or vendor supplied package programs for use with existing information systems. The position requires the skill to work with all Town staff on application problems and resolve end-user technical issues.

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with at least seven years of relevant work experience. Supervisory experience of staff and contractors preferred. Proficiency as a network administrator, with system design, experience in staff and contract management, including planning, writing specifications, budgeting and administration are all requirements of this position.

Certifications, including CompTIA Network Plus, Comp TIA Project , CAPM, CISA, CITM, CISSP and CEH preferred.

Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as required. Background check required. Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills are preferred, and experience coordinating services and programs in local government is a plus.
