The Town of Essex is receiving applications for a part-time position as a Library Circulation Assistant II for the Essex Free Library. 

Under the direct supervision of the Library Director, the Library Assistant provides support at the circulation desk for both library patrons and staff, and contributes to the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the library.

This positions works 15 hours per week. Hours are divided between the office and circulation desks and include two nights a week, one Saturday per month, and some weekday hours.

The qualified candidate should have a relevant college degree, familiarity with library management systems and a variety of other computer applications, familiarity with literature and readers' advisory, and experience working with people of all ages. 

Essex will consider any combination of education and experience that allows for successful performance in this role. The minimum starting salary is $19.50 per hour with the actual starting salary based on qualifications and experience. This is a part-time, non-union, hourly position. There are no benefits associated with this role.
