What You'll Be Doing: 
This flexible part-time position (Certified Virginia Law Enforcement Officer) is located within the Leesburg Police Department and is responsible for reviewing and issuing notices and civil citations for speeding violations captured by the photo enforcement program. Work involves responding to violators’ and community members inquiries, maintaining records, testifying in court, when needed, reviewing violations for accuracy before dissemination, and communicating with the photo enforcement vendor.
Work Schedule: 
This position will work a schedule of up to 20 hours per week primarily within the school year and reduced hours within the summer. The scheduled work hours will be generally sometime between 8:00am-4:00pm Monday through Friday. 

• HS/GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age with US Citizenship. 
• Virginia DCJS Certified Law Enforcement Officer.
• Must be RADAR/LIDAR certified or have the ability to obtain certification within three (3) months of employment.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Must be able to provide testimony under oath in a court of law.

• College coursework or a degree in criminal justice or a related field.
• General knowledge of municipal ordinances and regulations pertaining to parking enforcement.
• Knowledge of the Town of Leesburg.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish.
