PARKS DIVISIONGR2 Heavy Equipment Operator Minimum Qualifications

• Participate in grounds keeping and landscaping services at town parks and on other public grounds, participate in tree trimming and care activities, operate chain saws, stump and brush grinders: operate various types of riding mowers and tractors with attachments.
• Possession of or ability to obtain Commercial Driver’s License Class B driver’s license with airbrakes endorsement.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a Massachusetts Class 2A Hoisting License.
• Participates in operations to remove or treat snow and ice on Town roads and other facilities; participates in other required activities during inclement weather (hurricanes, wind storms), including those occurring after normal work hours.
• Ability to communicate in a courteous, professional and respectful manner with the general public and fellow employees.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member in the Parks Division to achieve department goals and objectives.
• Assist with loam, fertilizing, and seeding athletic fields, and other public grounds, install and maintain irrigation systems; build, repair, tend, and maintain athletic fields.
• Assist with maintaining pool facilities, including pools, bath houses, and deck areas.
• Assist with installing and maintaining playground equipment, maintain foot and bike trails.
