Towne Family of Companies is Hiring a Towne Vacations Accounting Specialist Near Norfolk, VA
Essential Responsibilities:
Reviews monthly activity from vacation companies and prepare necessary journal entries to post activity in Prologue in accordance with GAAP
Prepares monthly reconciliations of vacation balance sheet accounts
Run monthly reports from property management software(s) to calculate future revenues
Calculate monthly allowance for cancellations on future reservations
Assist with monthly variance analysis for Towne Vacations
Prepares and analyzes large amounts of data using Excel and summarizes findings
Work with vacation accounting staff to ensure fixed assets are capitalized according to company policy
Run monthly metric reports from Key Data and prepare monthly statistical journal entry file for upload
Assist with preparing sections of the monthly Board Report
Assist Vacations Team members with special projects
Minimum Required Skills and Competencies:
Excellent analytical, project management, interpersonal, organizational planning, and PC skills
Strong understanding of GAAP
Be able to navigate through large quantities of data
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet critical deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment when dealing with confidential information
Desired Experience:
CPA or CPA candidate preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Master's degree in Accounting a plus
2 years of relative work experience, banking or property management accounting experience a plus
