Towne Family of Companies is Hiring a Towne Vacations Accounting Specialist Near Norfolk, VA

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Reviews monthly activity from vacation companies and prepare necessary journal entries to post activity in Prologue in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepares monthly reconciliations of vacation balance sheet accounts
  • Run monthly reports from property management software(s) to calculate future revenues
  • Calculate monthly allowance for cancellations on future reservations
  • Assist with monthly variance analysis for Towne Vacations
  • Prepares and analyzes large amounts of data using Excel and summarizes findings
  • Work with vacation accounting staff to ensure fixed assets are capitalized according to company policy
  • Run monthly metric reports from Key Data and prepare monthly statistical journal entry file for upload
  • Assist with preparing sections of the monthly Board Report
  • Assist Vacations Team members with special projects
Minimum Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Excellent analytical, project management, interpersonal, organizational planning, and PC skills
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Be able to navigate through large quantities of data
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet critical deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment when dealing with confidential information
Desired Experience:
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Master's degree in Accounting a plus
  • 2 years of relative work experience, banking or property management accounting experience a plus
