Toyota Industries is Hiring a Technical Specialist Near Columbus, IN

Job Description
Position Summary:
The Technical Specialist is a key contributor to supporting Toyota's dealer network, and ensuring customer success. By engaging with and supporting dealership technicians, the Technical Specialist is responsible for identifying issues, determining root cause and clarifying solutions.
Essential Position Duties:
  • Provide remote assistance to dealership technicians related to maintenance, or repair of organization's product offerings.
  • Provides guided diagnostic assistance using existing documentation or knowledge bases, informs service personnel of available embedded diagnostic information or OEM special service tools and explains proper operation and performance.
  • Support the resolution of moderately complex issues and problems, and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff with documented progress.
  • Suggest changes to products based on customer feedback.
  • Continuously facilitate the improvement of organization's product offerings via technical reports.
  • Utilize CSM (Customer Service Management) system for tracking requests, root cause determination and documenting resolutions.
  • Assist Sales, Marketing, Product Planning, Training and Legal Departments by providing detailed technical support and product information.
  • Assist the Warranty Department on judgments or understanding of forklifts and related products.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Education Experience:
  • Associate's Degree in Engineering or Technical discipline preferred. Alternative education or work experience in relevant industries will be considered.
  • ASE certification or technical training in hydraulics, electrical systems, engines and drivetrains.
  • Four or more years of experience providing technical support in the material handling, heavy equipment or related industries.
  • Experience with customer or dealer communications and operations a plus.

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require the ability to be on feet for long periods of time, perform physically demanding work and could be at heights greater than 20 feet. May use a full range body motion for climbing, pushing, lifting and reaching. Proper lifting techniques required. May perform strenuous and heavy work, can exert force up to 100 pounds on occasion and frequently handle loads to 50 pounds. Frequent use of computer and telephone.
Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
