Who we're looking for
The Technology Domain Owner (TDO) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all technology-related initiatives within the assigned business or technology domain. This role entails developing and executing the domain's technology strategy to ensure alignment with overarching business objectives. The TDO must leverage their technical expertise to drive innovation and deliver impactful business outcomes. Additionally, they should possess strong influencing skills to shape strategy and forge partnerships both internally and externally. Collaboration with other TDOs, Enterprise Architecture, Data Domain Owners (DDOs), and Business Domain Owners (BDOs) is essential for roadmap synchronization and managing interdependencies across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technology Delivery Accountability :
•Hold single accountability for the delivery of technology initiatives within the assigned domain, ensuring projects are completed to specification, within time and budget constraints.
•Develop and maintain a detailed delivery plan that encompasses all aspects of the delivery from initiation to closure.
•Monitor and report on the progress of technology delivery to senior management and stakeholders, adjusting delivery plans as necessary to meet objectives.
2. Team Leadership :
•Assemble a high-performing technology delivery team by identifying and securing both direct and matrixed team members with the necessary skills and experience; allocate suitable talent to the right teams at the right time, serving as a role model and technology mentor to all team members.
•Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to the team, fostering an environment of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
•Conduct regular performance reviews and establish individual development plans to encourage professional growth and performance improvement. Emphasize technical expertise through activities like code reviews, design feedback, quality assurance, compliance adherence, and ensuring delivery.
•Facilitate effective team collaboration and communication, ensuring team members are engaged and motivated to achieve project objectives.
3. Product Delivery Lifecycle Management :
•Assist domain level business and technology strategy, and target state architecture; contribute to domain OKR / investment planning process and budget formation including product intake process, cost estimates, etc.
•Oversee the entire product delivery lifecycle, ensuring that all phases, including product requirement, engineering planning, development, testing, deployment, and post-deployment support, are executed according to best practices and standards.
•Take ownership of the technology backlog, production performance, and overall technical quality of the product. Conduct regular reviews of the product's technical performance and advocate for a backlog of improvements in areas such as quality, throughput, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
•Implement and manage change control processes to accommodate delivery process adjustments while minimizing risks and issues.
•Ensure that product delivery is aligned with user needs and business goals, incorporating feedback mechanisms to continually enhance product value.
4. Standards and Compliance :
•Ensure compliance with all TFS policies, technology policies and standards, cybersecurity policies, and regulatory requirements specific to the captive finance industry.
•Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for technology processes, risk assessments, and compliance activities.
•Collaborate with the risk management teams to identify potential technology risks and implement mitigation strategies.
5. Stakeholder Engagement :
•Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the domains and organization to ensure alignment and support for technology initiatives.
•Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing clear and concise updates on delivery, risks, and achievements.
•Gather and incorporate stakeholder feedback to ensure technology solutions meet business needs and customer expectations.
6. Continuous Improvement :
•Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the technology team, encouraging team members to explore new technologies and methodologies.
•Conduct post-implementation reviews to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement in future projects.
•Lead by example in staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and application within the organization.
What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Progressive experience in technology product engineering ownership
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong experience overseeing entire product delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience working with risk management teams to identify potential technology risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Executive level communication skills including strong negotiation/facilitation/presentation skills.
