Who we’re looking for:

Toyota’s Data and Analytics group is looking for a motivated and experienced Actuary to join their team. The role’s primary responsibility is the development and deployment of pricing and reserving assessments for the company’s insurance and protection products. This includes regular rate indications, support for state rate filings, and partnering with the product development team on new products. This role is also responsible for reviewing revenue patterns, reserving, audit support. The role is a key partner with the product and accounting teams, ensuring the actuarial function is optimally leveraged and driving value for the business.

What you’ll be doing

  • Monitor the components of the product price and identify opportunities to take action.
  • Develop and implement pricing and ratemaking methodologies/models using relevant and appropriate actuarial techniques.
  • Create analysis and exhibits as needed to support state rate-filings and present recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Generate ad-hoc pricing analyses/simulations as requested by senior management.
  • Assists in monitoring earning and claim patterns
  • Ensure model development discipline through consistently maintained documentation, data and model validation, and appropriate approvals.
  • Work with the accounting teams in the quarterly reserving process according to industry actuarial/accounting standards.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Finance, Economics, Statistics or related field
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Knowledge of insurance underwriting and associated regulations
  • Strong understanding of actuarial concepts such as ratemaking, reserving, rate filing approval, claims development, trend analysis, credibility analysis
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, explain concepts to influence audience to drive outcomes, and gain buy-in
  • Experience with predictive modeling in actuarial science

Added Bonus If You Have

  • Already credentialed as or near completion of Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) Pricing and rate filing experience
  • Experience in warranty products and automotive industry
  • Checks and Controls experience
