Job SummaryAs a Catering Staff/Driver, you will be responsible for driving, cleaning, and maintaining company vehicles. You will ensure the safe and timely transport of food items to and from company events and locations. Additionally, you may be asked to perform roles such as Server, Bartender, or Event Cook during event hours.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive vans along designated routes
  • Clean and maintain company vehicles, including replenishing water, soap, disinfectant, and fuel
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies
  • Monitor vehicles for major repairs (e.g., engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire replacements)
  • Occasionally carry event equipment (e.g., tables, chairs, trays, pots, pans)
  • Deliver food, beverages, and equipment to designated areas
  • Set up and pick up catering events as scheduled
  • Load and unload delivery vans
  • Follow sanitation and safety guidelines when handling food and equipment
  • Ensure hot and cold food items comply with company standards and safety requirements
  • Inspect all food, beverage, supplies, and equipment per Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
  • Transport items to storage areas in a safe, orderly, and timely manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, warehouse, and other areas
  • Interact with guests in a friendly, welcoming manner
  • Communicate with managers, captains, chefs, and other staff members to coordinate arrival times and delays
  • Collaborate respectfully and communicatively with team members
  • Report any needs, packing errors, or products not meeting standards in a timely manner
  • Assist with loading and unloading goods as needed
Required Knowledge And Skills
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1-3 years of related experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Ability to drive vehicles safely
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
  • Capability to make independent judgments with moderate impacts on the organization
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Working Conditions
  • Indoor and outdoor work under various weather conditions (windy, rainy, hot, etc.)
Requirements
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Active ANSI-certified California Food Handler’s Certificate
  • Appropriate PPE (e.g., non-slip shoes)
  • Ability to pass company criteria for delivery, including motor vehicle inspections and driving record standards
  • Ability to read a map or navigate various routes
