This person must have at least 1 year of experience working in a restaurant kitchen as Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Chef.

Job DescriptionPosition: Line Cook
Department: BOH
Reports To:Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, General Manager
FLSA Status: Full-time, Exempt
SummaryThis position will challenge you and adapt your culinary skills to our Polynesian fare! As a line cook, you’ll be responsible for the preparation, execution, and plating of dishes in accordance with the Trader Vic’s standard.Essential DutiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Pre-service
  • Take stock of current inventory and prepare daily prep list.
  • Prepare all required mise en place following recipes.
  • Ensure station is clean & tidy at all times
Service
  • Cook and serve dishes under supervision of the Chef and Sous Chefs.
  • Attempt to accommodate any special request made by the guest to the best of the restaurant’s capability
  • Read order tickets thoroughly, with attention to order time, delivery time (if applicable), modifications, allergies, etc.
Communication
  • Assist Chef and Sous Chef with training new staff.
  • Coordinate with other line cooks to prepare for service.
  • Report any mishaps in the kitchen.
  • Be reliable and punctual at all times.
  • Participate in training activities as required.
  • Work with FOH staff to communicate special order requests, timing, and changes
  • Undertake and follow through on any reasonable task or request made by Management.
  • Be fully aware of restaurant’s fire and safety regulations and abide by them
  • Be courteous and professional with all colleagues.
  • Inform Management of all complaints or incidents.

Education & Experience
  • Formal education with a culinary background or a related field.
