Job Description
Objective of Position: Assemble and sub-arc weld beams for use in the manufacturing of trailers.
Principal Responsibilities:

• Read and properly interpret blueprints for specified beams.
• Assemble beams to established quality standards for the sub arc weld process within acceptable limits set by TK.
• Perform tack, zipper, flat, horizontal, and submerged arc welds within acceptable quality standards set by TK.
• Assist Lead Welder in Beam Department to effectively and efficiently produce beams.
• Operate overhead and jib cranes safely and efficiently.
• Maintain acceptable attendance per company guidelines.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to apply good math skills to add, subtract, and divide fractions and/or decimals.
• Ability to work at a steady pace to assemble and weld beams that meet company standards for quality.
• Ability to use measuring tools and devices accurately.
• Possess a positive attitude, good work ethic, and ability to work in a goal-oriented team environment.
• High school graduate or GED is preferred.
• Must possess good verbal & written communication skills.
• Must have good safety awareness.
• Must be familiar with wire feed welding equipment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Ability to work up to an 11-hour shift.
• Required to stand, kneel, walk, sit, climb, bend, and twist; use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
• Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to changes in temperature and humidity, dust, fumes, and is near moving machinery.
