Trailways of New York has an opportunity for a Full-Time Staff Accountant at our corporate office in Hurley, NY. The preferred candidate is a seasoned Accounting professional who will assist with the daily operations of the Accounting team.

Your responsibilities:

• Preparing, analyzing and maintaining financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and work papers.
• Preparing and reviewing monthly bank reconciliations and ensuring accuracy of financial data.
• Communicating accurate financial information and meaningful variance analysis for actual results versus forecast and budget.
• Collaborating with internal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
• Assisting in the preparation and completion of annual audits.
• Generating and presenting additional financial and analytical reports as needed.
• Completing additional projects as assigned.

Your skills should include:

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in regulatory reporting standards and compliance.
• Strong financial acumen and understanding of finance principles.
• Concrete understanding of computerized accounting systems and electronic records management.
• Exercising high ethical standards, confidentiality and professionalism.

Our preferred requirements:

• Associate Degree in Accounting or related field.
• A minimum of 3 or more years of proven general ledger accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel is required. Prior experience with NetSuite helpful, but not required.
• A collaborative, hands-on style with colleagues at all levels.
