Responsibilities include:
Establishing or adjusting work procedures as necessary to meet production schedules.
Planning and coordinating new product launch activities.
Coordinating the appropriate support to effectively meet production schedules.
Coordinating aftermarket and special production requirements, interpreting forecasts and schedules, and coordinating appropriate support and staffing levels.
Reporting abnormal production issues, leading investigations, and implementing countermeasures.
Conducting daily staff meetings and other required meetings.
Interviewing and evaluating potential new employee candidates, leading the selection process for team member promotions.
Maintaining production records and tracking manufacturing performance to budget and target.
Leading and implementing projects, changes, or modifications in working conditions to improve production methods, equipment, performance, and quality.
Creating data collection systems to facilitate improvement activity, initiating special reporting systems for staff communication.
Leading and participating in safety, quality, and productivity continuous improvement teams.
Writing and coordinating updates to the operator standards.
Coordinating the completion of employee performance appraisals and discussing appraisals with employees.
Reviewing and authorizing employee time records, scheduling team members to meet overtime production requirements, and developing overtime schedules to meet production requirements.
Conducting in-depth analysis of cost data and leading improvements and countermeasures.
Managing variable cost accounts via purchasing and inventory systems.
Being the top-ranking official on-site for off-shifts, serving as the key contact for decision-making in safety, quality, and productivity.
Interpreting company policies, enforcing safety regulations, counseling employees as required, leading team member injury investigations, and coordinating countermeasures.
Serving as a key resource for changes in company policies.
Ensuring ongoing and up-to-date training of employees.
Facilitating and encouraging QC circle group activity, serving as a key resource for QC circle group development.
Reviewing and authorizing employee suggestions, and encouraging employee participation in the suggestion process.
Considering morale and initiating or suggesting plans to motivate workers to achieve team goals.
Coordinating performance corrective actions as required.
Taking over manager responsibilities when necessary.
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor's Degree.
Production Operations experience from manufacturing (ideally Automotive but open to other backgrounds).
Experience in implementing continuous improvement methods for production, equipment operation/performance, and parts quality.
Prior Management experience (will be supervising 20-60 personnel).
Ability to run cost analysis and drive KPI's for a department.
