Job Description

As a Staff Accountant with Trans Ova, you will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role on the Fixed Assets & CAPEX management process as a part of the broader Accounting team. A main responsibility of this role is to test, document, and report whether key accounting processes are working as designed when required. This will allow you the opportunity to work directly with key stakeholders in the business and provide data-driven recommendations. You will also partake in the month-end tasks including as well as helping to coordinate requests related to the annual YE audit.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the company-wide CAPEX processes and fixed asset accounting system maintenance
• Prepare and post to the general ledger accruals and journal entries
• Assist the Accounting Manager/CFO in the monthly financial statement review, as well as providing analysis on key areas as identified
• Test accounting compliance with written key control processes, maintain documentation, and provide feedback on performance to help ensure 100% year-end compliance with controls as designed
• Assist in daily AP processing and weekly disbursement support as requested
• Process and file annual IRS 1099 and 1096 reports
• Coordinate annual tax return information with external tax preparers

Education And Work Requirements

• 2-year accounting or related business degree OR the work equivalent thereof; 4 year accounting degree preferred
• Microsoft Office: Excel spreadsheet and data management skills required
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple business units/functions
• Capable of presenting to and working with Executive/C-Suite team members
• Willingness to learn and develop key skills and attributes
