OverviewThe Project Management area is responsible for leading a team, typically cross-functional teams, to achieve project goals and requirements. Work with project teams and stakeholders to plan, execute, monitor, and control the project. Manage resources, budget, cost, time, quality, risks and other constraints.
ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:
  • The Global Service Delivery Project Management team is to provide a professional project management service supporting the Global Service Delivery and Processing Operations organisations for the delivery of projects within the Payment, Financial and Telecoms divisions.
  • The Project Manager will manage projects requiring provision and implementation of services. These projects are derived from two sources, customers and internally. The Project Manager is expected to manage multiple concurrent projects and to have full control of those projects during their entire lifecycle. The Project Manager will work with guidance and supervision from the management team.
  • Projects range in size from a week to many months. In most cases the Project Manager will be heavily reliant on specialist teams to deliver their work, therefore people management is key. This does not rule out the possibility, on occasions, of Project Managers having technical input and ownership where their skills suit.
  • The Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Project Sponsors within the constraints laid down by them. Prime responsibility is to ensure that the project produces the required deliverables, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost.
  • Whilst a managed and structured approach to Project Management is required, this should not be a limiting FRctor. The Project Manager, with the support of the Management team must be capable of selecting the appropriate project controls on a per project basis bearing in mind the FRst paced environment we operate within.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery of the required objectives within agreed time and budget parameters.
  • Direct and motivate the overall project team.
  • Produce all relevant documentation in line with the departmental procedures; this may include the participation in external audits.
  • Provide regular project status reports.
  • Identify and recommend operational improvement opportunities consistent with the delivery of the key project outputs (NB any such opportunity must be carefully scrutinised to assess that it is IN/OUT of project scope).
  • Prepare, track, and maintain the project plan throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor resource availability and utilisation.
  • Establish all required communication paths and processes within the project and between the project and other interested parties in the business, and with customers and 3rd parties.
  • Identify, via a risk log, and manage business and project risks, including the development of contingency plans via the nominated risk owners.
  • Formally manage issues through to resolution and utilise the escalation path where necessary.
  • Correct implementation of the change control process.
  • Responsible for managing the internal and external dependencies that may influence the project.
  • Liaise, closely, with the project sponsors to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project
  • Agree technical and quality strategy with appropriate members of the project team.
  • Prepare any follow-on action recommendations required at the end of project
  • Identify and obtain support and advice required for project management, planning or control
  • Be responsible for project administration.
  • Liaise with any Suppliers and account managers.
  • Assist, as required, with the management of standard work requests.
  • Maintain professional standards by keeping abreast of the latest trends and techniques.
  • Maintain an understanding of the technologies and products within TNS.
  • Qualifications:
  • Working with others – as part of a team, as opposed to working separately or competitively.
  • Organising work/project management – the ability to establish a clearly defined course of action to accomplish goals and to organise work efforts.
  • Technical /professional expertise - the ability and motivation to expand one's own technical/professional knowledge and share this experience.
  • Customer orientation – a willingness to help and serve others and meet their needs whether they are internal or external.
  • Change management/adaptability – the ability to maintain effectiveness in a challenging environment.
  • Directing work through others - the ability to direct, when necessary, the activities of others in the best interests of the organisation and its customers.
  • Computer literate with sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio, Sharepoint.
  • Competent in report and project documentation writing.
  • Worked as a Project Manager for at least two years within the technology (Telecommunications environment particularly) sectors.
  • Strong technical IT industry experience in one or more of the following; Network/communications, Processing, card payments, EFT or application development.
  • Well practised at conducting workshops and meetings.

  • 3-5 years as a project manager

  • Analysis - the ability to gather relevant information, notice relationships between different pieces of information, reason from cause to effect and generate effective solutions to practical problems
  • For this role, we anticipate paying $67,500-$82,500 annually. Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location. TNS offers a competitive benefit package including medical and dental coverage, life insurance, paid holidays and vacations, and a 401K plan with company match.

Education And Certifications
  • Formal Project Methodology training e.g. PRINCE2, PMP
  • Degree/HNC in a technically related discipline (IT, Telecommunications)
