The County has approximately 40 departments with 13000 records in the Kronos database. The County uses both the project and hourly timecard views. The majority of employees make time and attendance entries via the internet or have timekeepers who do so on their behalf; approximately 400 employees use Kronos In-touch time clocks. Various scheduling systems interface with Kronos Workforce Timekeeper Version 8.1 to support the operational needs of individual departments such as the Department of Transportation, Transit Division, Fire and Rescue Services and the Police Department. The Department of Transportation, Highway Services Division, use an internal application called Crew Day Card; the Transit Services Division use Trapeze (non-Kronos); Fire and Rescue Services and the Police Department use TeleStaff, a Kronos scheduling module. The Department of Correction and Rehabilitation uses a stand-alone TeleStaff application for internal scheduling which does not interface with the Timekeeping application. Timekeeping policies and processes are governed by Montgomery County Personnel Regulations and Collective Bargaining Agreements. The County has a number of timekeeping and scheduling projects underway. The Department of Correction and Rehabilitation and Fire and Rescue Services is in the process of upgrading to Workforce TeleStaff Version 7.
