What we’re looking for: TransitMatters seeks a driven full-time program assistant to advance TransitMatters’ Regional Rail and Labs campaigns and assist the Programs Manager and Executive Director.

Who we are and what we do: TransitMatters brings a technical yet people-centric approach to improving public transit in and around Greater Boston for nearly a decade. We offer new perspectives, unite transit advocates, and inform the public. We utilize a high level of critical analysis to advocate for plans and policies that promote convenient, effective, and equitable transportation for everyone.

What the Program Assistant will do: Working in a hybrid environment and reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Assistant will have internal and external responsibilities, ranging from engaging with municipal and state officials to advance critical transportation issues to working with volunteers to develop research, white papers, and advocacy materials. These responsibilities will center on:

• Regional Rail advocacy campaigns to advance Commuter Rail electrification and regional rail
• transformation across Metro Boston and the MBTA’s service area.
• Labs advocacy campaigns to connect volunteer-built data tools into TransitMatters’ advocacy to advance bus, subway, and Regional Rail.
