Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, People, Communication & Workplaces, you will be an integral part of our newly established Division Leadership Team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for defining and delivering the internal and external communications, marketing and media activities for Transport for NSW. As we are rolling these functions into a centralised team, bringing each team on the journey and setting team culture will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of these services.
Marketing and external communications is a core responsibility of this role, particularly communications and marketing around operational readiness for major transport projects, advertising and safety campaigns.
This is also a proactive media focused position and will require deep political nous and experience of dealing with demanding stakeholders at all levels, including internally, other government departments and Ministerial offices. We need someone that brings strong experience proactively, rather than reactively, managing media.
You will provide oversight of corporate affairs support and communications advice to the Secretary and Executives to improve the quality of targeted communication, relationships and information management.
This is a full-time ongoing Transport Senior Service Executive TSSE2B level role offering an attractive remuneration package.

You have an excellent knowledge of and experience within the media landscape, with a considered and proactive approach to messaging, branding and issues management. You also have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of government and the political context in which Transport for NSW operates.
You are forward thinking, proactive and highly effective at navigating ambiguity, complexity and change, with the gravitas and interpersonal skills to influence and foster strong relationships with senior executives to build trust and drive outcomes. This is a role for someone with the experience and nous to manage high profile, sensitive issues that have a significant impact on the public, political and media landscape.
