TransWest is looking for a Vice President, Finance and Accounting to join our team in Seattle, WA!The Vice President, Finance & Accounting is a pivotal role that combines strategic oversight with a willingness to engage deeply with the details. This position is accountable for all finance and accounting operations, and will guide financial strategy to improve company performance and support growth initiatives. The Vice President directs a team of five, including a Controller. Responsibilities encompass financial planning and analysis, month-end close processes, treasury management, risk control measures, and collaborative interactions with other organizational leaders. Additionally, this role manages outsourced IT services and maintains external partnerships with audit, tax, banking, and insurance service providers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Lead, manage, and hold the Accounting, FP&A/Pricing, and Technology teams accountable to delivering results and executing against Company, team and individual priorities. Accounting Team is comprised of Controller, AP Specialist, and Staff Accountant (outsourced). FP&A Team is comprised of Senior Business Analyst and Business Analyst. Technology is entirely outsourced through our 3rd party partner
  • Work together across the Leadership Team and the whole company in pursuit of the shared vision and agreed upon path. Hold each other accountable on the small stuff and the big stuff
  • Accounting and financial reporting - ensure accurate and timely visibility into financial performance
  • Treasury & cash management - Work to maximize the Company's cash flows & ensure that the Company has sufficient cash on hand & access to capital to execute the Company's long term plans
  • Financial Planning & Analysis - partner with Business Analyst to create long-term, forward-looking visibility into the financial implications of the Company's strategic plan to ensure alignment to direction & resource needs to deliver on plan. Analyze performance against expectations. Allow for data-driven decision making
  • Manage external financial relationships (banking, auditors, tax, investors)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to assess the business's capital expenditure requirements, and actively engage with lenders to secure competitive financing terms
  • Manage & mitigate risk - work with other leaders across the organization to understand areas of risk & exposure, creating plans to address or mitigate those areas identified
  • Lead the strategic management of the company's insurance coverage and policies, evaluating coverage needs, negotiating contracts, and optimizing insurance costs

Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA a plus
  • Proven track record of managing finance teams
  • 10 years experience in finance with 3 years experiene managing finance teams
  • Familiarity with transportation or service industries a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems implementation a plus
BenefitsSalary Range $180-$250k DOE
This is a full-time role in Seattle. We offer a flexible work environment allowing for a mix of remote and in-office options. Our offices are located in SODO with convenient and free on-site parking. Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401k w/ Matching, PTO and Paid Holidays.
