Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
Travelers is looking for a leader of our Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) space with a focus on delivering great experiences, securing complex systems, and managing programs at scale. This role is at the AVP level and reports into the Cybersecurity organization. It has responsibility for the registration, login, and profile management experiences for all customers, claimants, and agents interacting with Travelers. This leader will drive strategy for the program, lead the agile scrum teams, and manage the security tools and practices that protect our customers' information.
The ideal candidate has deep Identity and Access Management expertise, a program/product management background that puts the customer first, and real-world security experience. This role manages managers, developers, product managers, and other delivery personnel and needs deep technical acumen to help drive strategy and solve problems. Additionally, this is a high-visibility role that drives change across the company, so the ability to partner with various parts of the business is key.
What Will You Do?
  • Drive the long-term strategy for how our customers, claimants, and agency partners register, login, and manage their profile. Defines and drives the CIAM roadmap for the company, defining the future of CIAM experiences.
  • Own the securing of external IDs, deploying various technologies including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), bot detection and prevention, and passwordless experiences.
  • Leads Agile program planning for multiple scrum teams as circle / train lead in a modified Agile SAFE structure.
  • Collaborates and navigates with stakeholders and leaders across divisions to drive CIAM objectives. Leverages expertise in dealing with complex, matrixed organizations and stakeholders to influence change.
  • Has budget responsibility for an organizational unit of 25 to 50 employees/contractors and/or a budget of between $1M and $10M. Develops a portion of an overall divisional budget subject to review and is responsible for expense control for the units assigned. Demonstrates sound cost-effectiveness. Failure to achieve objectives can result in delays or inefficiencies resulting in readjustment of resources and/or staff.
  • Leads multiple teams with responsibilities to support and maintain major, highly complex security processes, controls or products.
  • Manages leaders of teams and/or teams with responsibilities to configure, test, document and implement new and upgrades to major, highly complex security processes, controls or products as directed.
  • Leads activities and/or teams to resolve situations involving improper attempts to access or infiltrate our networks.
  • Recommends and sponsors purchases and/or licensed software products to identify and address security exposures
  • Represents Cybersecurity enterprise organization at design and new technology meetings.
  • Provides human resources management, including coaching, performance management, team development and growth, and workforce planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Eight years of relevant experience with Cybersecurity tools, processes, and practices.
  • Five years experience with Identity and Access Management tools, processes, and practices.
  • Four years of experience managing products, programs and/or technical teams required.
  • Demonstrated focus on measured customer success outcomes.
  • Experience working with User Experience teams to deliver optimal customer experiences.
  • Six years of experience managing products, programs and/or technical teams.
  • Broad knowledge of all IT related technologies with subject matter expertise in IT Security related technology and business exposures impacting organizational vitality preferred.
  • Experience leading organizational change preferred.
  • Development experience preferred.

What is a Must Have?
  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in education and/or work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems Cybersecurity or a related STEM field.
  • Eight years of experience in Computer Science or a related field required.
  • Four years of experience managing others and/or technical teams required.
