About The Position
  • Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Med Surg/Tele/Oncology **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years **License:** Active, AZ or Compact **Certifications:** BLS required, ACLS and Chemo/Immunotherapy highly preferred **Must-Have:** Oncology experience required; EPIC system experience required **Job Description:** - Provide comprehensive nursing care in a 36-bed Med Surg/Tele/Oncology unit. - Manage common diagnoses including oncology, abdominal pain, COPD, overdose, weakness, psychiatric cases, and some surgical patients. - Occasionally handle patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, and those undergoing peritoneal dialysis. - Work with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 during night shifts. - Administer titratable drips, primarily Heparin; manage set rate drips like Lasix. - Collaborate with charge nurses and patient care assistants to ensure optimal patient care. - Monitor telemetry; share responsibility with a dedicated monitor tech. - Participate in required weekend shifts every other week and cover typically 2 out of 3 major holidays. - Be available for low census on-call duties and float to MedSurg or stable low acuity ICU as needed. - Complete orientation, including Neo, clinical education, and EPIC training. - Adhere to the dress code of wearing navy blue scrubs.
