TravelNurseSource is working with Origin Travel Nurses to find a qualified RNFA RN in Beloit, Wisconsin, 53511! About The PositionOur client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various surgical specialties including General, Orthopedics, Urology, OB/GYN, Podiatry, ENT, and Facial Plastics. This position requires a self-starter with an exceptional work ethic who is willing to assist in surgeries, help with cleaning and turnover, and scrub when not first assisting. The role involves 10-hour shifts with call duties 2-3 nights per week and every 3rd weekend.Key Responsibilities:
Assist surgeons during operations in various specialties including General, Orthopedics, Urology, OB/GYN, Podiatry, ENT, and Facial Plastics.
Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and available.
Help in positioning and draping patients for surgery.
Provide direct assistance to the surgical team during procedures, including tissue retraction, suctioning, and suturing.
Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room.
Assist with post-operative patient care and transport.
Participate in the cleaning and turnover of operating rooms between surgeries.
Scrub in to assist with surgeries when not performing first assist duties.
Take call 2-3 nights per week and every 3rd weekend, providing essential surgical support as needed.
Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.Qualifications:Required Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) VerificationEducation and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Current and valid RN license in the state of practice.
Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) certification.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RNFA preferred.Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in surgical assisting techniques across multiple specialties.
Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and aseptic techniques.
Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility to handle on-call responsibilities and work varied hours as needed.
Strong work ethic with a willingness to help with various tasks in the surgical suite.
