The Network Field Technician is responsible for the configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting of WLAN, LAN, and network security solutions.

• Staging and configuration of network electronics based on customer requirements
• Performing physical implementation of network electronics into customer environments
• Understanding various network, data center, and data closet components
• Manage implementation team resources to project schedule and objectives
• Troubleshooting and problem resolution independently or as part of a team
• Interfacing with clients, partners, and internal team members to ensure effective implementation and integration strategies are executed
• Focus on providing a high level of customer satisfaction throughout solution delivery process

QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

• 4 years of experience as Network Technician with implementation of network electronics or 10 years of experience and demonstrated performance in a structured cabling work environment
• Must have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience working for a system integrator, structured cabling provider, VAR, or as an independent consultant installing and troubleshooting network switches, routers, and firewalls
• Must be familiar with a wide base of technologies such as networking, network service (DHCP, DNS), wireless networking, and network security
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be able to quickly learn new processes
• CCNA desired
• Can travel 30-50% of the year

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, operate, and maintain network equipment on various client networks

· Configure various vendor hardware platforms based on design (HPE/Aruba, Cisco, Brocade, Extreme)

• Execute project scope requirements, including staging, implementation, change management, testing, and documentation
• Manage LAN/WLAN implementation team resources to project schedule and objectives, including, but not limited to:

• Direct physical installation resources to Traversa rack/stack/patch standards
• Lead crews of wireless access point installation resources
• Set expectations with installation resources regarding process, standards, and documentation requirements
• Responsible for inspection of work quality of onsite resources to ensure success

• Conduct onsite wireless site surveys utilizing survey tools such as Ekahau with direction from lead wireless engineer
• Assist with troubleshooting of client solutions onsite and remotely
• Collaborate with internal and external resources to identify technical requirements
• Ensure that L2 / L3 testing has been completed prior to leaving customer site
• Learn new technology with little to no supervision and demonstrate technology to the Traversa team
