Essential Functions:

• Catalogue artifacts from ongoing excavations
• Assist the Curator of Preservation Collections in:
• Managing and training volunteers, interns, and field school students in conducting the full range of standard archaeological lab procedures
• Designing exhibits and preparing for internal and external loans
• Organizing and updating comparative artifact collection
• Conduct historical research, artifact analyses and contributes to preparing archaeological reports, articles, and presentations
• Conduct the full range of artifact processing activities including washing, sorting, and labelling artifacts
• Interpret Mount Vernon material culture to the public and conduct tours of the archaeology lab
• Conduct and supervise specialized processing including water screening and flotation
• Undertake other duties as assigned
