**Job title:** Logistics Team Leader

**Reporting to:** Warehouse Manager

**Location:** Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk

**Hours:** 40 hours per week

As a Logistics Team Leader, you will manage and lead a team of employees, having day to day responsibility of ensuring that all orders are smoothly despatched from site. The successful applicate will have an eye for detail and drive a process of continuous improvement, and team development.

**What youll be doing**

The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to :

Overseeing the Despatch function so all shipments are prepared and loaded safely and correctly

Assessing condition of shipments before they leave site to ensure our customers receive quality goods.

Ensuring all relevant processes and paperwork are completed efficiently and correctly

If not already qualified to pick and pack dangerous goods, undertake training to do so.

Covering for other Logistics Team Leaders as and when required

Communicating company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to team

Motivating team members, assessing performance and working with HR to manage poor performance where appropriate.

Providing support to management, including recruiting new staff and training, and keeping management updated on team performance

Responsible for writing SOPs relevant to area of work

Carry out regular 1-1s with direct reports and ensure that expectations are clearly set.

Assist the Logistic Manager in preparing weekly and monthly KPIs.

Drive forward the Logistics competence matrix, ensuring all your teams are supported to multi skill where possible.

Leading process review and continuous improvement projects.

Along with the Logistics Manager and other Team Leader, assist in all aspects of preparation for and moving to the new site.

Be competent in computer operation utilising JDE and Microsoft office applications.

**What were looking for**

Educated to GCSE or equivalent

Team Leading qualifications would be a distinct advantage.

Relevant Logistics qualifications also advantageous

Product knowledge and industry experience, previous experience of team leading, strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to motivate, self-motivated with strong relationship building skills.
