Job Title: Information Technology Specialist

SummaryInstalls, modifies, and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance and training to system users by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Inspects personal computer equipment and reads order sheet listing user requirements to prepare system for installation.
Installs or assists personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, and printers.
Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs onto computer.
Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation.
Responds to user inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems.
Instructs users in use of equipment, software, and manuals.
Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems.
Coordinates activities information systems groups.
Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.
Replaces defective or inadequate software packages.

Education and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Computer SkillsBasic knowledge of Windows operating systems, file structures, and ITSM systems. Familiarity with Active Directories, Group Policy Objects, and Microsoft 365 Admin portal.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however in some instances, will require hearing protection that is provided by the company. Temperature conditions are uncontrolled in the factory environment, controlled within the office environment, and server rooms are maintained to a range between 45-55 degrees. Safety protocols must be adhered to, and PPE will be provided.
