Production Lead

A leading Aerospace and Defense assembly manufacturer in Chandler Arizona is seeking a Lead Production Assembler. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Production Assembler to join our team. The ideal candidate will specialize in precision soldering and perferably the assembly of semi-rigid RF cable assemblies. This role requires exceptional technical expertise and leadership abilities to ensure the production of high-quality wire harness assemblies. As a Lead Production Assembler, you will oversee the assembly process, mentor team members, and maintain the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The perfect Candidate for this position will be reliable, have a good work ethic, be a team player, and take great pride in building assemblies that help keep America safe.

Weekly Schedule: Full time, 9/80 schedule

Week 1 - Mon-Fri 6:00a-2:00p Week 2 – Mon-Thurs 6:00a-4:00p

Pay: $21 to $25 per hour

Specific Responsibilities:

Assembly and Soldering:

• Perform precision soldering on various electronic components and semi-rigid RF cable assemblies.
• Assemble and fabricate wire harnesses and cable assemblies according to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Utilize hand tools, soldering irons, and other equipment to ensure precise and reliable connections.
• Conduct inspections and testing to verify the quality and functionality of completed assemblies.

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead and supervise a team of wire harness assemblers, providing guidance, training, and support.
• Assign tasks, manage workloads, and ensure that production schedules are met.
• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Utilize a “Do it Right the First Time” philosophy in all activities.
• Work with Management to monitor and report productivity.
• Relay expectations to manufacturing team members.
• Ensure all plans and specifications are followed and work is being performed in conformance with the standards of the customer, vendor, and/or the Company in the assembly of all product.
• Enforce and administer all Company policies, work instructions and procedures.
• Assist Management to resolve production and quality issues directly affecting future production or customer schedules.
• Evaluate needs in Production for daily assignment of duties (tooling, training, etc.).
• Recommend any new, or editing of, work procedures to meet production needs.
• Perform In-Process Inspections when needed and properly record required data.
• Verify that Job Travelers are being completed correctly.
• Manage technician work order levels to keep them productive at all times.
• Provide close supervision, support and process verification on new hire transitions from training line to production line.
• Maintain a sense of teamwork with all employees.

Required Skills:

• Three to five years of wire harness assembly experience is required.
• Strong understanding of electronic components, schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Exceptional soldering skills with attention to detail and precision.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to troubleshoot complex assembly issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and mentor a team.
• Strong understanding of electronic components, schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Exceptional soldering skills with attention to detail and precision.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to troubleshoot complex assembly issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and mentor a team.
• Experience using Windows OS and MS Office
• Must have own reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug test.
• Must be able to read, speak, and write English.
