Position Summary:

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who performs patient assessment, develops, implements and evaluates effectiveness of an interdisciplinary plan of care for patient populations with various diagnoses. Maintains professional standards of conduct and ethics as outlined in department expectations and professional organizations. Provides education to patients, families, caregivers and other health professionals. Assists in the supervision of other staff members, students and volunteers, as appropriate. Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to patients'/caregivers' rights, as identified within the institution.

Major Position Responsibilities:

The position characteristics reflect the most important duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job in a fully competent manner.   • Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
  • Professional caregiver who performs patient assessment
  • Develops, implements and evaluates effectiveness of an interdisciplinary plan of care for patient populations with various diagnoses.
  • Maintains professional standards of conduct and ethics as outlined in department expectations and professional organizations. Provides education to patients, families, caregivers and other health professionals.
  • Assists in the supervision of other staff members, students and volunteers, as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to patients'/caregivers' rights, as identified within the institution.

Qualifications:

  • Qualifications RN Experience:
    • One (1) year Inpatient, operating room experience as a Registered Nurse, required
    • Must be able to circulate a variety of specialties (including, but not limited to: Neuro, Spine, HEENT, General, GYN, Vascular, Thoracic, Minimally Invasive, Robotic, Orthopedics).
    • Scrub experience strongly preferred.
    • Will consider advanced outpatient surgery experience, or completion of a specialty training program, formal residency or externship program.
  • Qualifications RN Transitional Experience:
    • One (1) year of acute care experience, required.
    • ICU, ED, or PACU experience, preferred.
    • ACLS required within 3 months of hire; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider.

Licenses:

  • Current California RN License, required. 

Certifications:

  • Current BLS required upon hire; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider.
  • ACLS required within 3 months of hire; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider. (positions floating to Endoscopy)

Each new hire candidate who is offered employment must pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen and pre-employment background checks before starting work. 

*Salary/Hourly wage range for this position is posted. Actual pay will be determined based on verified experience as well as internal equity.
