The agency consists of multiple programs that are created to empower people in Halifax, Charlotte and Mecklenburg Counties of Southside Virginia. Through collaborative efforts, engaged staff and partnerships, Tri-County is able to further our mission to eliminate the violence of poverty through advocacy, empowerment and self-sufficiency. What We Are Looking For:The DV/SA Case Manager will provide direct services to victims seeking assistance in Halifax County, South Boston, Mecklenburg, Charlotte, and Lunenburg Counties. What You Will Do:
Client Services
Provide appropriate peer counseling, support groups, crisis intervention, follow-up contact and/or advocacy as needed for victims of DV/SA, stalking and family abuse. These services and contacts are provided either in the office or in the TCCAA service area.
Make appropriate referrals to other agencies and counselors as needed.
Accompany DV/SA, stalking and family abuse victims to court hearings or hospital when requested.
Educational Outreach
Coordinate and deliver educational presentations to the community, church and civic groups, etc. on safety at home, the dynamics of DV/SA and on TCCAA DV/SA program services.
Develop a positive working relationship with other appropriate human services agencies.
Additional Responsibilities
Collect monthly client statistics and write monthly reports.
Share on-call responsibilities for DV/SA on the evenings and weekends.
Answer hotline when on duty.
What We Are Seeking:
Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, social work or related field preferred (not required)
Employee must have experience working with and knowledge of human service agencies with ability to work with volunteers and coordinate programs
Must have knowledge of counseling techniques as well as crisis intervention skills and an understanding of the unique needs of both child and adult victims of domestic violence
Subjected to varying and unpredictable situations, handles emergency and crisis situations, occasionally subjected to irregular hours
Occasional pressure/stress due to multiple calls, client issues and meeting deadlines
