Purpose of the job: Manages all aspects of Quality across Tri-K including Quality Control department and personnel. Supports definition of all standards required to run the business operation including ISO9001, EFfCi GMP and special standards. Lead implementation Quality programs/systems and ensure maintenance of related certificates. Owns audit program, document control and change management. Ensures operations are carried out according to quality standards for in-house and outsourced manufacturing. Drives improvements to Quality Systems and contributes to process optimization. Participates in risk management. 

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Management Representative for ISO 9001, EFfCI GMP, and any future implemented standards for both Derry and Denville site. Is the champion of ISO and GMP and ensures compliance across the organization.
  • Manages Internal Audit System including the scheduling of audits to ensure all areas are covered. Is the lead auditor and trains additional internal auditors as needed.
  • Manages all Document Control processes and communicates requirements to all members
  • Manages Quality Control team. Oversees quality control processes and test methods and is the head of the Protein’s Division Quality Unit. 
  • Organizes and leads Management Review sessions
  • Responsible for CAPA processing and documentation from initial complaint receipt through investigation, resolution, and communication
  • Collaborates with other departments on the investigation of internal non-conformities and oversees effectiveness of corrective actions for quality issues. 
  • Oversees management of change system and is conscience keeper for when change management is required
  • Participates and leads risk assessment sessions including enterprise risk management as needed. 
  • Collaborates with regulatory and technical service teams on supplier approval
  • Investigates, suggests, and implements improvements to ensure quality in our processes. 
  • Lead trainer for GMP refresher, CAPA’s and other topics
  • Assists in special projects and presentations, as needed

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemical or Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related discipline.

A minimum 5 years experience in quality manager, quality engineering, or quality assurance role preferably at a cosmetic or food manufacturer. Experience leading a team is desirable.

Computer Skills: 

Proficient computer skills, including MS Office applications (Sharepoint/Word/Excel/Power Point) are required. Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus. 

Certificates and Licenses: 

ASQ CMQ/OE (Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) or CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus

Certified ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor training is a plus

Candidates must be able to legally work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
